Ten Tips for Accreditation

Accreditation is a significant undertaking for an organization, especially an Association Management Company. Achieving a credential, such as the accreditation issued by the AMC Institute, requires focused attention and commitment to excellence, to be sure. These ten tips for accreditation provide your organization with an important foundation for success in this pursuit:

  1. Remember that the pursuit of accreditation reflects an AMC’s commitment to best practices for the Association Management Industry.

  2. Consider forming a work group, whether it be with colleagues within and/or outside of your AMC, to stay motivated, accountable, and positive.

  3. Review AMCI resources in the AMC Accreditation Download Center. You will find useful materials such as the Accreditation Handbook, information on the accreditation process, necessary forms, sample policies and forms, and the AMCI Standard of Good Practices.

  4. As part of your accreditation materials, clearly respond to each standard.

  5. Don’t hesitate to contact AMCI with any questions.

  6. Devote time each week to work on your accreditation materials.

  7. After you select your reviewer, schedule a meeting to learn about the review process.

  8. Include all team members in the accreditation process from start to finish.

  9. Stay organized by setting your own deadlines.

  10. Celebrate accomplishments along the way!
